Credits power everything you do in Astra. Whether you’re sending a simple reply, sharing rich content like images or documents, or handling a voice agent call, each action uses a specific number of credits.

Knowing how credits are calculated makes it easier to plan your usage, manage your balance, and keep your service running smoothly without interruptions.

How credits are used

Credits are deducted based on the type of action performed by the AI agent whether it is sending a simple text reply or performing an action. Below is a clear breakdown:

Simple text responses

1 credit = 1 simple text response

  • Every standard text reply or simple action consumes 1 credit.

Rich text responses, summary and advanced actions

3 credits = 1 rich response or action

  • Rich responses include:

    • Images

    • PDFs

    • Tables

    • Documents

    • Actions (including webhooks)

Each rich message or advanced action costs 3 credits.

Voice agent calls

5 credits = 1 minute of voice agent call

  • Credits are charged per minute of voice agent usage.

For example:

  • A 1-minute call uses 5 credits

  • A 2-minute call uses 10 credits

Additional credits

If your balance runs low, you can purchase additional credits to ensure continuous service.

How to purchase additional credits

Follow these steps to buy more credits:

1. Log in to your Astra account.

2. Go to Account and click on Plans.

3. Click on Add-ons and select the number of credits you want to purchase.

4. Click Continue to checkout to complete the purchase.

Once the payment is successful, the credits will be added to your account automatically.
