You can install Astra on your website without touching code directly by using Google Tag Manager (GTM). This method allows you to manage the Astra installation from a single dashboard, making updates and changes easier in the future.
Instructions
Follow these steps to set up Astra with Google Tag Manager:
Step 1: Log in to Google Tag Manager
Log in to your account and select the container for your website.
Step 2: Create a new tag
In the left navigation, click Tags.
Click New.
Under Tag Configuration, click the Edit (pen) icon.
Choose Custom HTML.
Step 3: Add your Astra code
In a new tab, log in to your Astra Dashboard.
Click Share and then Copy Code.
Return to Google Tag Manager and paste the copied code into the Custom HTML field under Tag Configuration.
Step 4: Set up a trigger
Under Triggering, click the Edit (pen) icon.
Select All Pages as the trigger.
Click Add.
Step 5: Save and publish your tag
Provide a name for your tag, then click Save.
On the Google Tag Manager homepage, click Submit.
Add a Version Name and an optional description.
Click Publish.
Step 6: Verify installation
Refresh your website - you should now see the Astra widget appear.
